Request an estimateWhat does it take to close in my patio?
Our enclosed patio rooms in Palmdale close in your patio with glass or insulated wall systems, so you end up with either a room for mild weather or a room you can use all year, depending on how much glass and insulation goes into it.
Most people who call me have a patio that gets a few good months of use and sits empty the rest, and they aren't sure if they want a bright spot for plants or a real room with heat and air. That choice moves the price more than anything, because a four season sunroom takes a lot more glass and insulation than a three season sunroom, and after that it's the size of the patio, whether a cover is already up and whether what's underneath can carry walls. The schedule mostly turns on the permit and on any fix the slab or cover needs first, and after the site visit I send you a written estimate for your room.
How we build an enclosed patio room
It starts with a question. Tell me how you'll use the room, whether that's coffee and plants or an office and a guest bed, because that tells us how much glass and insulation it needs, and there's no sense paying for a year-round room you'll only sit in on nice mornings. If you already have a patio cover, I check whether it's ready to be closed in, and either way I look closely at what the room will sit on and how it meets the house, since that's where trouble starts when nobody does. Once you've signed off on every choice and know what each one means, our crew frames the walls, sets the glass and panels, ties the room into the house and cleans up before we call it done.
Some patios need other work before or beside the room. If there's no cover over yours yet, patio cover installation can come first, and a cover built with walls in mind usually makes closing it in later a simpler job. If you want glass overhead as well as on the sides, solarium installation is the better fit for that much light.
Permits for enclosed patio rooms in Palmdale
When your job needs a permit, we handle the paperwork, and the first step is finding out who it goes through. Some homes with a Palmdale mailing address actually sit in unincorporated LA County, outside the city's say, so we check whether your address is under the City of Palmdale, LA County or Kern County, and you can check which side of the city line your home sits on yourself. Inside the city, Palmdale Building and Safety regulates construction on all homes, new, remodeled and existing, and every permit application there has to include a construction waste management plan showing how the job meets the recycling and waste diversion rules, so we put that plan together, file with the right office and set up the inspections. The city also requires new buildings in High and Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones to follow California's wildfire-resistant construction codes and says some remodels may need fire-resistant materials too, so I check your zone early, since it can change what the room is built from.
A lot of the patios we're asked to close in were poured for a grill and a few chairs, not for walls, and some have a cover that was never tied in well at the house. We run into the same thing on jobs in Lancaster and Quartz Hill, so I'd rather find it at the estimate than halfway through the build.
Why call us for a patio room
I measure and plan it myself
I come out to look at the job, measure and talk it through with you, and I'm on site checking the work while our crew builds. When a question comes up mid-build, you're talking to the person who made the plan.
Building patio rooms since 2017
We've built sunrooms, patio rooms and patio covers since 2017, and we're known for the jobs with a catch, like an old deck, a cracked slab or a room someone wants changed. If your patio has a quirk, odds are we've worked around one like it.
Licensed and insured for your build
We're fully licensed and insured. A patio room ties into your house, so you want the crew building it covered before the first wall goes up.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a three-season and a four-season patio room?
A three-season room usually has single pane glass and relies on open windows, fans and shade, while a four-season room uses dual pane glass and insulated roof panels and is designed to be heated and cooled all year. That's how one Southern California sunroom seller's guide lays it out, and it adds that the three-season room needs less material and fewer systems, which is why it costs less. The same guide notes that the glass in either type blocks harmful UV.
How much does an enclosed patio room cost in Palmdale?
Building an enclosed patio with walls and windows usually costs about $100 to $350 per square foot, going by HomeGuide's national range for the US, and a screened-in enclosure costs less per square foot than that. That's what the work tends to run across the country, not our price. Your own figure comes in the written estimate I send after the site visit.
Can my existing patio cover be enclosed?
Yes, an existing patio cover can be enclosed later with glass or insulated wall systems, and the insulation you pick decides whether the room acts more like a three-season or a four-season room. Whether yours is ready for walls comes down to the cover check I do at the estimate.
Does a contractor building a patio room need a California license?
Yes, in California anyone contracting for work worth $1000 or more in combined labor and materials needs a current, valid license from the Contractors State License Board. That goes for a sunroom maker too, since the board counts a manufacturer as a contractor when it builds the room on site at your home.
How do I decide whether I need a four-season patio room?
Go four-season if you'll work, eat or put up guests in the room, because the seller's guide matches offices, family rooms, dining rooms and guest spaces to four-season builds. Morning coffee, reading, plants and casual get-togethers in mild weather suit a three-season room just fine, and I'd rather you not pay for insulation you won't use.
How do I take care of an enclosed patio room?
One sunroom maker's care guide suggests inspecting the roof and gutters once a year and staying off the sunroom roof unless you need to be up there. Your room's maker may have its own care list, so keep it with the rest of your paperwork.
